Cookie Policy
1 What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser by a website you visit. Cookies can be used for session management, preferences, analytics, or tracking purposes. They are sent back to the originating server on subsequent visits.
This website takes a minimal approach to browser storage. Here's a complete picture of what we do and don't store.
2 Complete storage inventory
| Name | Type | Purpose | Stored? |
|---|---|---|---|
vf-privacy-ok |
localStorage | Remembers that you acknowledged the privacy notice. Never transmitted to any server. | Yes |
| Analytics cookies | Cookie | Umami Analytics is cookie-free by design. No analytics cookies are set. | None |
| Session cookies | Cookie | This is a static website — no server-side sessions. | None |
| Third-party cookies | Cookie | No third-party scripts, ad networks, or social trackers are loaded. | None |
| Inter font | — | The Inter typeface (SIL Open Font License) is self-hosted on our servers as WOFF2 files. No external font CDN is contacted. Zero requests to Google or any third party. | Self-hosted |
3 Analytics — Umami (cookie-free)
We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool we self-host on servers located in the European Union. Umami works without cookies — it derives an anonymous, non-persistent session hash from the browser's user-agent and a random daily salt. This hash cannot be used to identify or track you across sessions or across websites.
Umami records: page views, button click events, approximate country (from IP — not stored), browser type, and referrer domain. It does not store IP addresses, device fingerprints, or any personally identifiable information.
You can verify Umami's cookie-free claim in its official documentation.
4 localStorage — vf-privacy-ok
When you dismiss our privacy notice, we store the key vf-privacy-ok with the value 1 in your browser's localStorage. This is not a cookie — it is stored exclusively in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. Its sole purpose is to prevent the notice from appearing again on subsequent visits.
You can clear it at any time by opening your browser's Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage → voodflow.com → delete the key vf-privacy-ok.
5 Managing your browser storage
Since we set no cookies, there is nothing to opt out of via cookie settings. If you wish to clear the localStorage entry mentioned above, you can do so via your browser's built-in developer tools or clear-browsing-data feature.
Browser guides for clearing site data:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Safari: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
6 Changes to this policy
If we introduce any new form of storage or analytics in the future, we will update this page before the change takes effect and notify newsletter subscribers by email if the change is material.
